This 1970s Juanita Bay ranch home had a dark kitchen and interior bathroom that relied entirely on artificial lighting during the day. We installed two VELUX fixed curb-mount skylights, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, transforming both rooms with abundant natural light. The project included framing and finishing drywall light shafts, proper flashing integration with the existing composition shingle roof, and interior painting to complete the look. The homeowner reports a noticeable reduction in daytime electricity use.
